How Marea AI collects, uses and protects personal data, and how you can exercise your rights under Peru’s Personal Data Protection Law (Ley N.° 29733).
Last updated: October 10, 2026
This English version is provided for convenience. The governing text is the Spanish version (Política de privacidad); if the versions differ, the Spanish version prevails.
This policy explains how Marea AI S.A.C. (“Marea AI”, “we”) processes the personal data of people who visit www.mareaai.com, contact us or do business with us. We process personal data in accordance with Peru’s Ley N.° 29733, Ley de Protección de Datos Personales (Personal Data Protection Law), and its Regulations (Reglamento).
1. Who is responsible for your data
The controller of your personal data — under Peruvian law, the owner of the personal data bank (titular del banco de datos personales) — is:
- Legal name: Marea AI S.A.C., trading as Marea AI
- Taxpayer number (RUC): [RUC]
- Address: [DOMICILIO], Lima, Peru
- Email: info@mareaai.com
If you have any question about this policy or about your personal data, write to us at info@mareaai.com.
2. Personal data we collect
We only collect the personal data we need for the purposes described in this policy. Depending on how you interact with us, we process the following data.
Data you give us
- Contact form. Your name, work email, company, company size, area of interest and message (required), and your role and phone or WhatsApp number (optional). The form sends your message to us through Formspree, a form-processing provider located in the United States. Together with your message we receive the language of the page, the address (URL) of the page from which you sent it, and a record that you accepted this policy. If the form cannot be sent, you can write to us directly by email.
- Email and WhatsApp. If you write to us by email or, when it is available, through the WhatsApp link on this site, we receive your contact details and any information you include in your message.
- Business relationship. If you or your company hire our services, we process the contact and professional details of the people we work with, and the information needed to prepare proposals, sign contracts and issue invoices.
The fields marked as required in the form are necessary to answer your inquiry; if you do not provide them, we will not be able to respond. Optional fields help us prepare the conversation. Please do not include sensitive personal data (for example, health information) in your messages.
Data collected automatically
- Server logs. Like most websites, the servers that host this site automatically record technical data about each request, such as the IP address, date and time, page requested, referring page and browser type. We use these records only to operate the site, keep it secure and fix errors.
- Language preference. When you choose a language with the language switch or with the language suggestion the site may show you, or close that suggestion, the site saves that choice in your browser’s local storage (under the keys
marea-langandmarea-lang-toast) so that the suggestion is not shown again. The site also reads your browser’s language setting to decide whether to suggest another language version. This happens only in your browser: the information is not sent to us, and you can delete it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser. - Fonts. To display text, your browser downloads typefaces from Google Fonts, a Google service. In doing so, Google receives your IP address and standard technical information about your browser. Google’s own privacy policy applies to that service.
We do not use advertising or analytics cookies, or any third-party tracking tools, and the site itself does not set cookies. If we add analytics tools in the future, we will update this policy beforehand and, where required, ask for your consent.
3. Why we use your data
We use your personal data to:
- answer your inquiries and requests for information, and arrange meetings or calls;
- prepare and send proposals and quotations;
- manage our business relationship with you or your company, including contracts, project communication and invoicing;
- operate the website, keep it secure and remember your language preference.
We will send you news, invitations or other marketing communications only if you give us separate, specific consent. That consent is never a condition for answering your inquiry, and you can withdraw it at any time.
We do not sell or rent your personal data, we do not use the data you send us through this site to train artificial intelligence models, and we do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing.
4. Legal basis
We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, which must be free, prior, express, informed and unequivocal, as required by Ley N.° 29733, Ley de Protección de Datos Personales, and its Reglamento. You give this consent by ticking the consent box before you send the contact form.
Where the law does not require consent — for example, when the data are necessary to prepare, conclude and perform a contractual relationship to which you are a party — we process them on that basis.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to info@mareaai.com. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before it.
5. Personal data bank
The personal data we collect are stored in the personal data bank of contacts and clients owned by Marea AI S.A.C., which will be registered with Peru’s National Registry of Personal Data Protection (Registro Nacional de Protección de Datos Personales) in accordance with the applicable regulations.
6. Recipients and international transfers
We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own purposes. To run our business, we rely on service providers that process personal data on our behalf and only on our instructions, as data processors (encargados del tratamiento):
- email and office-productivity providers;
- the provider that hosts this website;
- Formspree (United States), which receives contact-form messages on our behalf;
- professional advisers (for example, legal and accounting), who are bound by confidentiality.
Google receives the data described in section 2 when your browser loads Google Fonts, and WhatsApp processes the messages you send through its service; each does so under its own terms and privacy policy. We may also disclose personal data to the competent authorities when the law requires it.
Some of these providers are located, or store data, outside Peru — for example, in the United States. This involves a cross-border flow of personal data (flujo transfronterizo), which we carry out in accordance with Ley N.° 29733 and its Reglamento: we choose providers that offer an adequate level of protection or sufficient safeguards, such as contractual commitments on confidentiality and security. By giving your consent, you also authorize this cross-border flow.
You can ask us at any time, by writing to info@mareaai.com, for the current list of our data processors and the countries where they are located.
7. How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:
- Inquiries that do not lead to a business relationship: for the time needed to answer your inquiry and any follow-up you ask for. We then delete or anonymize the data, unless you ask us to keep you as a contact.
- Clients: for the duration of the business relationship and, afterwards, for the periods required by tax, accounting and other legal obligations, or needed to address possible claims.
- Server logs: for a limited period, for security and troubleshooting.
- Language preference: in your browser, until you delete it.
If you withdraw your consent or ask us to delete your data, we will do so unless a legal obligation requires us to keep them.
8. How we protect your data
We apply the technical, organizational and legal measures required by Peruvian personal data protection law to keep your data secure and prevent their alteration, loss, or unauthorized processing or access. These include an encrypted connection (HTTPS) for this site, access restricted to the people who need the data for their work, confidentiality obligations, and service providers that offer adequate security guarantees. No system is completely secure; if an incident affecting your personal data occurs, we will act as the applicable regulations require.
9. Your rights
Under Ley N.° 29733 and its Reglamento, as the data subject (titular de los datos personales) you have the following rights:
- Information: to know the purposes, recipients and other conditions of the processing of your data, as set out in this policy.
- Access: to obtain the personal data about you that we process, how they were collected and why.
- Rectification: to have your data updated, completed or corrected when they are inaccurate, incomplete or out of date.
- Cancellation (erasure): to have your data deleted when they are no longer necessary for the purpose for which they were collected, when you have withdrawn your consent, or in the other cases provided by law.
- Opposition (objection): to object to the processing of your data on well-founded and legitimate grounds relating to your particular situation, in the cases provided by law.
- Withdrawal of consent: to withdraw the consent you have given at any time, without retroactive effect.
The rights of access, rectification, cancellation and opposition are known in Peru as “ARCO” rights. The law also recognizes other rights, such as the right to prevent your data from being supplied to third parties and the right to objective processing.
How to exercise your rights
Send an email to info@mareaai.com with the subject “Datos personales”, or submit a written request at [DOMICILIO], Lima, Peru, including:
- your full name and a copy of your identity document (DNI, foreign resident card or passport) — or, if you act through a representative, the representative’s identity document and the document that proves the representation;
- the right you wish to exercise and a clear description of your request;
- the email or postal address to which we should send our reply;
- where relevant, any documents that support your request.
We will respond within the deadlines set by Ley N.° 29733 and its Reglamento. If your request is incomplete, we will ask you to complete it.
10. Complaints
If you believe that we have not properly addressed your request, or that the processing of your personal data breaches the law, you may request the protection of your rights (solicitud de tutela) or, where appropriate, file a complaint (denuncia) with Peru’s National Authority for Personal Data Protection (Autoridad Nacional de Protección de Datos Personales), part of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights (Ministerio de Justicia y Derechos Humanos). We would appreciate the chance to resolve your concern first, so please write to us at info@mareaai.com.
11. Minors
Our website and services are intended for companies and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe that a minor has sent us personal data, please contact us and we will delete them.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the law, in our services or in how the website works. We will publish the current version on this page with its update date and, when the changes require it, we will ask for your consent again.
